This antique stoneware pot from Indonesia was traditionally used in kitchens to store water. Its thick, durable walls showcase the craftsmanship of the period. Over time, the outer cement layer was applied separately by the original owner — sometimes in multiple layers. As this layer was applied independently of the firing process, it may naturally dry and flake over time. This is a normal and acceptable characteristic of the piece.
For indoor use only, these pots make excellent planters. We recommend lining the interior with a waterproof sheet before filling with soil to protect the stoneware.
